Labor Day at my Mom's

Mac is prepping up for the Eastern Idaho State Fair after our cookout at my mom's house.

Just give Winns some Cheetos and no one will get hurt.

Hooray!

No one was eager to pet this beast at the petting zoo.

Treats are a must.

Mac and I's romantic evening.

My sister Shawna and her husband Brent cooked us some hotcakes in the morning.

Holy Moly I am 60!!!

A couple days before my birthday we headed up to Mom and Ford's house in Idaho. The kids love to fish on their pond. My kids had to camp out while Mac and I got to stay in the house. Tee hee hee. Thank goodness the sprinklers were turned off this year.

Matt pre-norovirus

We then headed to Yellowstone, one of the McFarland family's favorite places.  Here we are at Mammoth hot springs

Mac and I got to sleep in our truck tent. This makes our truck useless to drive while we camp and all of our belongings and food are squished into the front seats. Hmmm...

Winston was such a trooper!

We walked to a hot spring that runs into a river to take a dip. This was our only chance for a bath so we had to take it.

That's me sitting down in the water. Nelson and Evy are heading in. It was a fast current going in, then marvelous when you got to the pool below.

Mac was wonderful at giving child-rearing advice to the kids.

Matt's norovirus was in full swing here. He spent the day throwing up.

This was my actual birthday.

Finally we got back to camp and the kids started cooking my birthday dinner. I snuck into Holly's trailer to lick to cake bowl.

Dutch oven dinner. Mmm mmm good. Casey was our camp chef.

Sami and me.

I did a fish pond for the kids. It was a hit. Mac hid Jack's whoopie cusion in the trees after Jack fake farted fifty times.

Me blowing out my candles.

Raspberry cobbler and chocolate cake.

We took another hike to a waterfall the next day. We all made it across a log successfully!

We all brought sunscreen but didn't think to bring the bug spray. Ouch!

The waterfall was great on a hot day.

Winston and me.
What a rush! Nelson, Casey and Matt.

Ice cream in Yellowstone is a must!

We did the long walk behing Old Faithful. There were many things to see we never realized before.

Good Morning Glory.

Easter at the farm

We went to my mom's farm in Idaho for Easter. It's not often I can get my family all together. We dyed eggs and had an Easter egg hunt.

January and February Birthdays

We never had winter birthdays with my kids. They were all born between August and November. Now that our family has grown we have lots of birthdays year round. Coleman turned 1 in January. We drove up for the day and got to see Casey's kids as well.

Maddi celebrated her 8th birthday at our house this year. We had a nice lasagna dinner that Melanie made. Then in February we came up to see her baptized. How are my grandbabies getting so big? Sami turned 11 on Valentine's Day. She is my favorite Valentine's present ever. We didn't get to see her on her big day but we sent our love (as well as candy and cash).

Kate the great turned 5 the day after Valentine's Day. She is our mini-Matt. We went over to their place and enjoyed some cake. Then Allie turned the big 30 shortly after. Now we can all breathe a sigh of relief for a little while and take a short intermission from birthdays. Phew.
