Christmas Breakfast Dec.17

It is so hard to get these darn kids all together at once, but we managed to get most of them over for breakfast this weekend. All I have to say is "Mom's cooking" and these kids come running. I made aebelskiver, bacon, lil' weiners (aka little smokies), juice and oranges. It was delightful and we were all high off of powdered sugar fumes. Here's cute baby Vera.

My kids are small eaters (HA HA HA HA) So I only had to stand over that stove and cook a million batches. Luckily, we had a Christmas miracle and Mac helped me cook some. He only cooks if it is a Danish food.
And boy did I look good doing it. Wearing a Christmas sweater every day until Christmas is a must now.

Vera and Melanie. Melanie and Casey celebrated their 11th anniversary this weekend. Congratulations.

Mac, Evy and Maddi tickling the ivories that I never get tuned.

Sami and her cousin Simone

Mac and Jack's bum

Me and Zach. He is only scared of me sometimes.

It isn't Christmas unless I read my grandkids a Christmas story in my mormon fake grandma voice.

Evy, Jack, Maddi and Kate. Some of my Christmas angels.

Turkey Day! Gobble Gobble

We had a great Thanksgiving at Mom's this year.  'Chele and Stace came along with me, Mac, Holly and Evy.  Mom put on a great spread.  My favorite was the canned cranberry sauce- open and slide on a plate and voila! delicious.

And now let the holidays begin!  Thank heavens for cordial cherries!

Baby Winston is here!

I am a Grandma again! This is #8.

I can't wait to buy him cheese puffs, fruit snacks, juiceboxes, suckers and chocolates!!!

California here I came! October 2011

In October I went with my sister 'Chele to LA to visit my niece Stacy in her new apartment she shares with her favorite doggies.  Michele and Stacy drove down in the PT cruiser with two dogs (phew, missed out on that one) while I flew. 'Chele and I then pulled a Thelma and Louise / Oprah and Gayle and drove back together. Of course we went to Disneyland. That would have been disgraceful had we not. The employees said we wouldn't be able to do the World of Color, and see the fireworks and fantasmic all in one day, but we did. Who do they think they were dealing with anyway?

The Hollywood sign is near Stacy's apartment.

We went to gross Venice Beach

We went to La Brea tar pits. There is a museum there and tar pits that are actually still bubbling. It's right in the middle of the city which is really bizarre.
We also went to a farmer's market which was fun and the Hollywood walk of fame. Stacy scored us tickets to see Idina Menzel in concert. She was wonderful. Can't wait to go again soon!

40th High School Reunions

Mac and I had our 40th high school reunions this past month. Mac was in charge of his and has been out of comission for the past year because of it. Everyone is sooo glad it's over. This is the picture I entered into my reunion's yearbook of Mac and I now. Aren't I a card? Some of my classmates said they were relieved when they saw me and realized this wasn't us.

This is what Mac will do all weekend to get over his emotional exhaustion, or as he calls it, "I'm outta gas."

This is what I am going to do to get over my emotional exhaustion of dealing with Mac planning this reunion. Only I won't be upside down.

Go Layton Lancers! (My school)

Go Skyview Bobcats! (Mac's school)

Maggie's Tea Party

We had such a great time last weekend at a tea party held at my house for Maggie's baby shower. Thank goodness Mac cut the lawn for me beforehand. That would've been embarrassing otherwise...

My sister 'Shele came and spent time with us before heading to IKEA.

My neighbors Tammy and Shanna

3 cute granddaughters: Evy, Vera and Kate

We all got to wear our elegant hats

All hail to Queen Elena!

I made sure everyone knew that I was the grandma of this baby by putting "Grandma" all over my hat. I won 2nd place in the hat contest by the way!

Shanna brought over her minks to visit. These little rascals ate enough of the finger sandwiches and shortbread cookies.

My best jogging buddy Shanna

Whoa is all I've got to say about this picture.

Spa Day!!

Me and my sister 'Shell and I got to go to The Grand America Hotel Spa for massages for her birthday. I just had to pinch myself. I felt like a Disney princess. Was it wrong that I talked the whole time?

Afterwards, we got lunch and a pastry. What a wonderful day. I am a spaz for spas!

Fun at the farm

My youngest son and his favorite cousin.

My pregnant daughter setting up a tent. LOL!

Mom and Ford were just wonderful hosts.  I'm so glad I won Mom's cedar chest!

My cute grandkids.  If my son hadn't of gotten them these ice creams I would've done it myself.  I love to spoil them with treats!  It makes me the better grandma!

My Maddi sure is a smiler.

Oh my cute grandkids pooped from a day at the farm.  They just love to play with their cousins!

Mom getting dinner ready.  I definitely got her Type A cleaning skills!

I basically raised Evy.  So this is like my two daughters right here.

We had a great time at the petting zoo!

Another successful trip to the farm and the fair!

I'm so mad I haven't been on any trips lately.  People count on me to take exotic vacations and when I have nothing to tell them I am just mortified.  I don't even dare show my face at work anymore because I have nothing to report.  If I do not get out soon I am going to scream!

Even though I get more vacations in one year than most people take in their lifetimes, I am still upset it is not more often!

People live vicariously through me.  I make their lives better with my travel stories.

I'm not happy about this!
